Brookwood finished as AAA 2009 State Champs
South Gwinnett finished as AAA 2009 Bronze Champs
Congratulations to both teams on your outstanding accomplishments!
Red Devils Losing Ways Continue
The Loganville Red Devils lost their 4th straight game on Saturday to Brookwood 3A. It was another huge loss for the Devils who have been ravaged the last two weeks by the flu bug, poor overall play and an undisclosed injury to goale Kendrick Van Duesen. Saturday the Devils were missing leading scorer Andrew Fusssell, Andrew Smith and Tyler Douglas leaving the team with only 5 skaters. Brookwood 3A played an outstanding game taking full advantage of the situation while putting up 11 goals to the Devils 2.
Previously Loganville was trounced by Brookwood 5A and Grayson 3A twice. The Grayson team is hot and Grayson Goalie Jarred Yetter is on fire! Be ready if you have to play the Rams. They could be the favorites to win the 3A tournament.
The Devils will regroup this week with extra practices at SGAA since the middle school season is over which opens up some rink time.
Loganville Wins Iron Man
Loganville participated in the SGAA Iron Man Tourney over the Christmas Holidays and went undefeated with 4 wins and two ties.
The Devils shutout Team Grayson in the semi-finals 5-0 and then defeated Team Adegoke 3-0 in the finals.
Red Devils Lose Two
Loganville lost two games just before Thanksgiving.
The Devils kept it close losing to McIntosh 4A 6-4 and came out flat against a very good Pope Greyhound 3A team losing 4-0.
The shutout was the first for Loganville since 2003.
Loganville Splits Two
Loganville split a pair of games last weekend at SGAA defeating McIntosh 3A 4-3 on Saturday and losing by the same score on Sunday to Brookwood 3A. The Devils are now 4-1.
Loganville Moves to 3-0
The Red Devils moved to 3-0 last weekend with wins over Starrs Mill and Grayson. The Devils hung on for the 4-3 win against a very good Starrs Mill hockey team on Saturday and followed up on Sunday with a hard fought 4-2 win over Grayson. Loganville meets McIntosh 3A next Saturday and Brookwood 3A on Sunday.
Red Devils Win 2008 Season Opener
The Loganville Red Devils defeated McIntosh on Saturday by
the score of 7-3. The Devils got on the scoreboard first when Andrew Fussell got his first goal of the season for a 1-0 lead. Fussell completed a natural hat trick in the first period giving Loganville a 3-0 lead. McIntosh got the next two goals when Nico Casini and Andrew Sanders answered for the Chiefs only to see the Devils go up 4-2 on a Dylan Ivey goal at 3:46 of the second period.
Goalie Jarred Yetter on loan from Grayson for the injured Loganville goalie made several key saves during the period. Jake Ivey and Andrew Smith added goals late in the period to put the Loganville club up 6-2. Both teams battled hard in the third period with Loganville's Jeremy Davidson and McIntosh's Jake Doorman trading goals. Katlin Bohan was outstanding in goal for the Chiefs facing several difficult shots during the game.
Loganville meets Starrs Mill 4A in their next game on Nov 1st.
